INTRODUCTION: This study was conducted to determine the innovation characteristics of nursing students and the affecting factors.
METHODS: The study was conducted using a “Data Collection Form” and “Individual Innovativeness Scale” with face to face interviews with nursing students of a Faculty of Health Sciences. The Cronbach alpha of the scale was found as 0.76. The value p<0.05 was accepted as statistically significant.
RESULTS: The mean age of the students was 20.48±1.80 years and 31.9% of were first grade students. It was found that 65.4% of the students graduated from anatolian high schools and similar schools, 70.1% of the students had nuclear family and 66.5% had middle income. Participants were found as the late majority 42.6%, laggards 34.3%, the early majority 19.8%, early adopters 2.5%, and 0.8% innovators according to their innovation characteristics. It was determined that as the students’ number of siblings, preference order of nursing and the order of birth in their family increased, their level of innovation decreased.

Data in the study, for which the Ethics Committee Approval and the written consent from participants were obtained, were collected with Descriptive Information Form and the Revised Nursing Professional Values Scale (NPVS-R). The lowest possible score obtainable from the scale is 26 and the highest possible score is 130. The fact that an individual obtains a high score for the scale indicates that this individual has strong professional values. The research data were analyzed with SPSS 16.0 program. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov analysis, independent t test and one-way ANOVA were used for analysis with SPSS 16.0 program.
RESULTS: It was determined that the average age of the academicians was 35.52±9.60 years, they worked for 13.38±10.65 years on average, 55.0% of them had doctoral degree, and 85.4% of them gave information about values to students. The mean total item score of NPVS-R was 109.87±1.37 and the mean total item scores of NPVS-R was 4.22±0.50. Academician nurses in the age group of 36-45 who gave information about the values to their students were found to have higher scores in NPVS-R (p<0.05). It was determined that the academicians’ education level, academic title, working status as a nurse, and the study year did not have a significant difference on the mean score of the NPVS-R (p>0.05).

This model affected work life of the Family Healthcare Personnels (FHP). In this study, it was aimed to investigate views of the family healthcare personnels related to the model of family medicine.
METHODS: This descriptive study was conducted of 112 FHP working in Family Health Centers affiliated to Beyoglu and Şişli Community Health Centers in Istanbul. Data were collected with a questionnaire developed by researchers. Descriptive statistics and Pearson Chi-square test were used to analyse data.
RESULTS: Of the total, 39.3% FHP stated that evaluations in performance-based salary system are not made fairly, 73.2% of them job satisfaction is decreased in MFM, and 73.2% also thought that the general name of family healthcare personnels causes loss of proffessional rights. There was a statistically significant relationship between satisfaction status of nurses working as FHP and wishing to work after their contracts end (p<0.016), facilities provided by family health center (p˂0.039), compatibility of duties with duty descriptions (p˂0.001), and satisfaction on performance-based salary (p˂0.008).
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Primary healthcare centers are the prior gateways to community. Therefore, in order to maximize the efficiency of the health professionals who play an important role in the MFM, their experinced problems should be identified and initiatives to increase job satisfaction and motivation should be applied.

Addison’s Disease is a chronic disease that occurs with destruction of surrenal glands. Adrenal diseases are critical in the sense that they may cause serious maternal morbidity and mortality during pregnancy. Diagnosis of Addison's disease is difficult in pregnancy because its symptoms are very much similar to physiological signs of pregnancy; which may retard the diagnosis. Besides, detection of the disease with diagnosis is crucial in fetal and maternal risks. Fetuses of pregnant women with Addison’s Disease may face the risk of adrenal insufficiency, preterm birth, abortion, low birth weight and intrauterine growth retardation. Addison’s Disease crisis may occur due to stressful situations, progression of Addison’s Disease, infectious diseases, excessive vomiting and acute hypotension. Therefore; increasing treatment doses as well as midwifery and nursing care that will prevent these conditions should not be ignored in order to prevent development of Addison’s Disease. As a result; although addison disease in pregnancy is not widespread; it may lead to critical problems due to its high risk and therefore this review was done in order to guide midwives and nurses while giving care to the pregnant women.
Key Words: Addison’s disease; pregnancy; midwifery; nursing.
