Determining the factors affecting the education stress of nursing students

INTRODUCTION: The aim of this study is to determine the factors affecting the educational stress of nursing undergraduate students.
METHODS: This descriptive study was conducted with 585 students attending nursing undergraduate programs in two different universities. "Socio-Demographic Characteristics Data Form" and "Nursing Education Stress Scale" were used in the data collection. The data were analyzed in the SPSS 20.0 statistical program. Number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one way variance analysis and correlation analysis were used in the evaluation of the data.
RESULTS: The mean application stress score of the students was 30.45 ± 8.48, the academic stress score was 30.79 ± 8.09, and the total stress score was 61.25 ± 15.74. The stress score of the application was significantly higher in girls who were not satisfied with the physical condition of the school, and when they were unstable in choosing the nursing department (p <0.05). Academic stress scores were found to be significantly higher in female students, in the students in the west, not satisfied with the physical condition of the school, and not at all satisfied with the nursing curriculum (p <0.05).
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: It is recommended that the physical conditions are regulated in both schools where the work is done, that the nursing departments are introduced more effectively and that their curricula are reviewed again.

Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin eğitim stresini etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Bu çalışmanın amacı hemşirelik öğrencilerinin eğitim stresini etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesidir.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Kesitsel tipte yapılan bu çalışma iki farklı üniversitede hemşirelik lisans programına devam eden 585 öğrenci ile yapılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında sosyo-demografik özellikler bilgi formu ve “hemşirelik eğitimi stres ölçeği-HESÖ” kullanılmıştır. Veriler SPSS 20.0 istatistik programında analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde sayı, yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma, t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi ve korelasyon analizi kullanılmıştır.
BULGULAR: Öğrencilerin uygulama stres puanı ortalaması 30.45±8.48, Akademik stres puanı 30.79±8.09, toplam stres puanı 61.25±15.74 olarak saptanmıştır. Uygulama stres puanının kız öğrencilerde, okulun fiziki koşullarından memnun olmayanlarda, hemşirelik bölümünü tercih etmekten memnun olma konusunda kararsız olanlarda daha yüksek olduğu ve farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu belirlenmiştir (p<0.05). Akademik stres puanının kız öğrencilerde, batıda olan okulda hemşirelik öğrencilerinde, okulun fiziki koşullarından memnun olmayanlarda ve hemşirelik müfredatından memnun olmayanlarda daha yüksek olduğu ve farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu belirlenmiştir (p<0.05).
TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Okulların fiziksel koşullarının düzenlenmesi, hemşirelik bölümlerinin daha etkin tanıtılması ve müfredatlarının tekrar gözden geçirilmesi önerilmektedir.
