Complementary medicine in supporting the lactation process and the role of the nurse.

Lactation process is an important period for both mother and infant. This process begins with hormones in pregnancy before birth. Lactation process begins with beginning of milk production with birth. The mother is affected both physiologically and psychologically by this process. The mother is positively affected by this process and can be adverseley affected by enviromental factors.
Breast problems are often the first problems faced by women during the lactation process. At the same time the breastfeeding process can be interrupted. İnterrupted breastfeeding can lead to adverse consenquence for both mother and infant. The use of chemical medicines in the treatment of problems during breastfeeding can affect the quality of the milk or can harm to infant by passing breastmilk. In this context, non- chemical complementary medical practices during the lactation period can help support breastfeeding and resolve breast problems. Complementary medical practices within the framework of the regulations specified in the Regulation may be included in the maintenance practices of nurses working in this area.
In this review, studies on the effects of breastfeeding and breastfeeding problems in the lactation process of complementary medicine were examined and the activities of complementary medicine and the role of the nurse maintenance and support of breastfeeding were examined.

Emzirmenin kesintiye uğraması hem anne hem bebek açısından olumsuz sonuçlara yol açabilir. Emzirme sürecindeki sorunların tedavisinde kimyasal ilaçların kullanımı sütün kalitesini etkileyebilir veya anne sütü ile bebeğe geçerek zarar verebilir. Bu bağlamda laktasyon döneminde kimyasal olmayan tamamlayıcı tıp uygulamaları emzirmenin desteklenmesi ve meme sorunlarının giderilmesine yardımcı olabilir. Yönetmelikte belirtilen roller çerçevesinde tamamlayıcı tıp uygulamalar buı alanda çalışan hemşirelerin bakım uygulamalarında yer alabilir. Bu derlemede, tamamlayıcı tıbbın laktasyon sürecinde emzirme ve emzirme sorunları üzerindeki etkisini içeren çalışmalar incelenerek emzirmenin sürdürülmesi ve desteklenmesinde, tamamlayıcı tıp uygulamalarının etkinlikleri ve hemşirenin rolü irdelendi.
