The Nursing Care that is Structured According to the Roy Adaptation Model for a Patient with Amputation Surgery

Nursing models that deal with nursing knowledge and practices in a systematic framework are a guide for nurses to providing effective communication between professionals and providing holistic care. The Roy Adaptation Model, which is widely used in surgical nursing, is the main aim of nursing; to increase the adaptation of the patient to the new situation and to ensure a long and quality life. According to the Roy Adaptation Model, the patient is assessed in the physiologic, self esteem concept, role function and mutual dependence areas. The purpose of this article is to explain the nursing care that is structured according to the Roy Adaptation Model for a patient with planned amputation surgery.

Amputasyon Ameliyatı Uygulanan Bir Hastanın Roy Uyum Modeline Göre Yapılandırılmış Hemşirelik Bakımı

Hemşirelik bilgi ve uygulamalarını sistematik bir çerçevede ele alan hemşirelik modelleri; profesyoneller arasında etkili bir iletişimin sağlanmasında ve hastalara bütüncül bakım verilmesinde hemşirelere rehber olmaktadır. Cerrahi hemşireliğinde yaygın olarak kullanılan Roy Uyum Modelinde hemşireliğin temel amacı; hastanın yeni gelişen duruma uyumunu artırarak uzun ve kaliteli bir yaşam sürmesini sağlamaktır. Roy Uyum Modeli’ne göre hasta fizyolojik, benlik kavramı, rol fonksiyon ve karşılıklı bağlılık alanlarında değerlendirilir. Bu makalenin amacı, amputasyon ameliyatı uygulanan bir olgunun Roy Uyum Modeli'ne göre yapılandırılmış hemşirelik bakımını açıklamaktır.
