Noninvasive Mechanical Ventilation

Noninvasive positive-pressure ventilation, referring to the provision of mechanical ventilatory assistance without the need for an invasive airway. Noninvasive positive-pressure ventilation has been used increasingly to treat acute and chronic respiratory failure. The best candidates for noninvasive positive-pressure ventilation are able to protect their airway, are cooperative, and are otherwise medically stable. Success is optimized when a skilled team applies the correct interface and ventilator settings. The following discussion includes the physiologic bases fort he use of noninvasive positive-pressure ventilation, evidence for efficacy, possible indications, practical application and complications of the method.

Noninvazif Mekanik Ventilasyon

Noninvazif pozitif basınçlı mekanik ventilasyon, invazif havayolu kullanmaksızın mekanik ventilatör desteği verilmesidir. Akut ve kronik solunum yetersizliklerinde noninvazif pozitif basınçlı mekanik ventilasyon giderek artan oranda kullanılmaktadır. Bu yöntem için en güçlü adaylar havayolunu koruyabilen, iletişim kurulabilen ve tıbbi açıdan stabil olan hastalardır. Başarı, iyi eğitimli elemanların doğru arabirimler ve ventilatör seçimi ile sağlanabilir. Bu yazıda, uygulamanın fizyolojik temeli, etkinliğine ilişkin kanıtlar, olası endikasyonlar, pratik uygulama kuralları ve komplikasyonları tartışıldı.
