Florence Nightingale’in Işığında Cerrahi Hemşiresinin Evde Bakım Rolü

Hemşirelik yasalarını ortaya koyan, hemşireliği tanımlayarak ilk yaklaşımları açıklayan ve hemşireliğin dünyada ve ülkemizde gelişimine katkıda bulunan en önemli kişilerden biridir Florence Nightingale. Hemşireliği, hastayı yaşama döndürecek en iyi koşulu hazırlayan bir uygulama olarak ele almıştır. Bu koşul için de en önemli faktörü, çevre olarak görmüştür. Ayrıca bulunduğu şartlar altında, çalıştığı hastanelerde ekip içerisinde disiplinin, ortak bir dilin kullanılmasının ve bakım veren kişilerin eğitimli olmasının önemini fark etmiştir. Hasta kişilerin bakımı ile görevlendirilecek olan kadınların, özel olarak eğitilmesini önermiştir. Eğitilmiş kadınların hastanelerde ve bulundukları bölgelerde, ev ziyaretleri gerçekleştirecek özel hemşire olarak görevlendirilmeleri ile ilgili bir plan sunarak evde bakım hizmetlerinin öncülerinden olmuştur.
Bu doğrultuda, özellikle cerrahi girişim uygulanan bireyler, ameliyat sonrası dönemde komplikasyonlar yönünden risk altındadır ve evdeki iyileşme süreci önemlidir, Bu nedenle bireylerin yaşadıkları sorunların saptanması, bakımın verilmesi, evde bakım hizmetlerinin planlanması açısından önemlidir. Ayrıca ev ziyareti yapan cerrahi hemşiresinin, çevreyi değerlendirmek ve zarar verici faktörlere karşı bilgilendirme sağlamak, çevresel risklere maruziyeti önlenmek, çevre sağlığı ile ilgili yeterli ve güncel bilgiye sahip olmak ve bu bilgilerin güvenilirliliğini sorgulamak şeklinde görevleri bulunmaktadır.
Sonuç olarak cerrahi hemşiresinin, etkili ve kapsamlı bir taburculuk eğitimi planlayabilmesinde hastaların bulundukları çevrenin ve bu çevreye uygun gereksinimleri ile ilgili bilgi toplayarak eğitim vermesi önem taşımaktadır.
