Lung transplantation is a basic therapeutic alternative for the cure of serious non-neoplasic pneumopathies, such as advanced chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, and pulmonary hypertension in the end stage, and when the estimated life expectancy is under two years. The success of the process from organ removal to transplantation depends on the participation and on the work of the multidisciplinary team, promoting the content of the care provided by the team to the client in the perioperative period.
